D’enfant star à leadeuse de l’un des plus influents combo hard rock de la planète, il n’y a qu’un pas. Et Taylor Momsen l’a allègrement franchi avec The Pretty Reckless. Démonstration à Clisson.
Vous vous souvenez de cette fillette qui convainc Jim Carrey, grimé en Grinch, de ne pas voler Noël ? Et bien c’est la même que celle qui fréquente le gotha new-yorkais dans Gossip Girl. C’est d’ailleurs aussi la même que celle qui électrise la mainstage du Hellfest 2026 avec son groupe The Pretty Reckless. Autant dire que si le changement d’orientation professionnelle est réussi, il était pour le moins inattendu. Mais c’est justement en contrecoup à cette surmédiatisation précoce que Momsen s’oriente vers un art qui lui permet une expression plus personnelle et intimiste.
C’est ainsi qu’en 2010, elle s’associe à Ben Phillips, Mark Damon et Jamie Perkins pour sortir Light Me Up, le premier album de The Pretty Reckless. Produit par le légendaire Kato Khandwala, l’album aux accents hard rock et grunge les propulse rapidement dans les charts rock du monde entier, grâce notamment à l’imparable “Make Me Wanna Die”.
Après trois autres albums, d'innombrables tournées et des affiches partagées avec AC/DC ou encore Guns N’ Roses, le groupe revient à la fin 2025 avec un EP de Noël qui reprend notamment une chanson interprétée par Momsen sur le tournage du Grinch.
La boucle est donc bouclée mais l’histoire est loin d’être terminée car avec leur cinquième album sorti en 2026 et intitulé Dear God ils comptent bien montrer au Hellfest que leur musique n’a rien perdu de sa capacité à faire secouer les têtes. Un cadeau de noël avant l’heure pour les fans de riffs qui coupent comme des lames de rasoir !
